Our Profile University College of Northern Denmark – UCN – is a large, Danish institution of higher education and knowledge in the fields of health care, education, business and technology. UCN is an independent, self-governing institution under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science and is accredited by the Danish Accreditation Council. UCN is a member of University Colleges Denmark* and is based in the North Denmark Region. UCN has a duty to educate graduates in close collaboration with the business community across our region. UCN was established in 2007 and has many years of experience in higher education. UCN is a merger between a number of education institutions, some of which date back more than 200 years. UCN’s overall strategic management is performed by a board of directors. The Board has 14 members representing both private and public businesses and internal members representing students and lecturers. The Rectorate carries the overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of UCN with the support of heads of schools, programme directors and the administrative management.
